I was walking along on campus last week and spotted this giant clump of mushrooms. For going to school in the middle of the city, I see some things you'd never expect to find there. This is a great example. Just last week I was walking out of one of the buildings and a hawk flew just five feet over my head with a giant squirrel in its talons. amazing!

Vespa Obsessed
Since I went to Italy and saw everyone and their mom riding around on scooters, motorcycles, and the like, I've had Vespa on the brain. I really want one but, I'm a poor college student about to move into a new apartment so, I have to save my money for deposits and rent instead. So sad because I can imagine buzzing around Kansas City on one of these, saving money on gas, reducing my carbon emissions, and looking really freakin' cool. Don't you love the scene in Roman Holiday when Audrey Hepburn gets Gregory Peck on the back of that Vespa and they're zooming around Rome like crazy? Love it. Someday....someday.

neither.

I am pretty proud of myself. I have gotten into a good habit of remembering my reusable shopping bag every time I go to get groceries. I love these string bags too because they are so compact, I can just slip it right into my purse. They are much sturdier than they look, they can carry something like 50 pounds. Its crazy! They are awesome though and as an added bonus a lot of grocery stores will give you a small discount for bringing your own bag. You can get a set of 5 in different colors at reusablebags.com. No more annoying plastic bags to deal with, I swear they reproduce when you're not looking.
